Wednesday Morning Ride

Image
Another easy ride this morning.  Weather-wise, it was almost cool(ish) during the ride.  According to the bike computer, temps dipped below 70 degrees with an average of 67 during the ride.  All-in-all, it was a good ride.

Tuesday Morning Ride

This week will be a "recovery week."  I'll continue to put in some miles but I'm not going to push it. My legs have been pretty sore so I'll try to give them some time to get back to normal.  Today's ride was good, almost 20 miles but I didn't push very hard. The weather was really nice.  It was overcast for most of the ride with temperatures in the mid-70s.  All-in-all, it was a good ride.

Sunday Morning Ride

Ended the week with a fairly long ride but it was a weird one for me. I felt pretty good on the outbound leg even though there was a slight headwind.  On the inbound leg, I felt totally drained - particularly in the legs - in spite of a slight tailwind.  Perhaps it's due to the mostly downhill nature of the outbound leg versus the mostly uphill of the inbound or maybe I'm just tired.   Anyway, it was a good ride.

Friday Morning Ride

It's been a busy week and I missed a ride on Wednesday.  I had a very short amount of time to get Wednesday's ride in and, as I started, I realized I had a flat tire.  I didn't have enough time to get the tire changed so had to skip that ride.  So back out this morning. It's hot and humid here in East Texas with temperatures forecasted to be above 100 degrees today.  So I'm glad I got the ride in early. I was a little stiff at the start of the ride but loosened up as I got warmed up.  I'm also trying out a new camera today, so let's see if that makes a difference in the video quality.  Overall, it was a good ride.

Saturday Morning Ride

This was my longest ride of the year which ended the most mileage in a week at 81.3 miles.  All-in-all, it was a good ride.  The weather was about perfect (except for the humidity) and the scenery was nice.  Part of the ride was along a portion of the famed Camino Real of Texas up to the small town of Douglass.  I stopped there for a cold drink and a Snickers bar and then headed south around Lake Nacogdoches before turning south on FM 2782 to Texas Highway 7 back to town.  It was a long ride, hilly and it definitely whooped my butt.  I decided not video today's ride but did take several pictures.  Rolling fields south of Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Douglass, TX Historical Signs in a small pavilion in Dou

Thursday Morning Ride

This was my first back-to-back-to-back ride of the year.  I was pretty fatigued during the second half of the ride but kept pushing through.  The weather was just about perfect (except for the humidity but, that's life.)
